Better British
mai 27, 2009 at 11:41 pm | In Linn liker | 3 CommentsWe just have to face it, the brits do it better!!! SO much better. In this case I don’t think of football, royal families, or films, but “Britain’s got talent” which is roughly about a 1000 times better than the norwegian version “Norske talenter”. Not only do they have funny cute hosts (with adorable accents) and entertaining judges who make the show better, not worse, which is the case in the norwegian verison (we got Jan Fredrik Karlsen…), but the contestants are simply more talented. Yes, they have more people and the chances of finding someone talented increase, and yes, last year’s winner of “norske talenter” the dance group Quick is really talented, but they don’t even come close to the british street dance groups. For instance Flawless and Diversity!
I have spent many hours on YouTube lately catching up on the best auditions and the new semi final clips from BGT. The british producers really know how to make good TV! Fancy music, touching background stories, tears, laughter and so on. People tell me it is all pre-made – it is not real, but I couldn’t really care less because it is brilliant entertainment!
There are many funny and good BGT clips, but these two are my absolute favourites and I can watch them over and over again. Enjoy!
Honey I’m home
mai 12, 2009 at 7:05 pm | In Liste-Linn | 3 CommentsI have been back home for 1 week now. It is nice to have vacation, norwegian food and water, a lovely spring, and be able to be really lazy, but even though I have really enjoyed meeting up with a lot of friends I haven’t seen in a long time, I can’t shake off the feeling of uncertainty and restlessness. However, I do believe I know the reasons why!
- I have vacation till mid-august and apart from a trip to Gol to visit Helene tomorrow, a 4 week long work session on Hudøy, and a long weekend trip to München – I have no actual plans and I am becoming restless already!
- I am turning my life around as of mid-august. I have a full time job, and I am moving to the countryside. I am an adult – that’s scary!!
- I will turn 26 this august and apart from having a job, I can’t really say I am where I thought I would be or have done the things I thought I would do at 26
Leaving on a jet plane
mai 4, 2009 at 8:07 pm | In Linn in Canada | 2 CommentsGood bye dinners, lunches, breakfasts, and hugs are all done… It is so weird that this is my last day here. It’s a bit sad to leave Montreal, but then pretty much everyone that I know here is leaving as well. And, I’m going home so I’m also happy!
Now, I really hope British Airways understand that I do need to be allowed a few extra kilos!! *pleeeeease*
