I’m going…

… skiing here!

Hurra!

And I probably have the coolest parents in the world. They, like me, actually think flying across Canada, so we can have the best skiing possible, is a great idea!

C’est parfait!

The cure

The best cure for homesickness is to play in the snow. The best way to play is with skies, on a mountain, with a lot of snow, and some scandinavian friends. Mont St. Anne was cold, but still great. We really made the most out of our skipasses and went skiing from early morning to late night, so late that we almost missed the hot tub.

And it’s really incredible how the conversations between two swedes, a danish and a norwegian girl can turn into a language discussion all the time:

- Hva sa du?
- Peanøttsmør!
- Hva?
- Men altså jordnøtsmør…
- Du vil ikke tro hva jeg trodde du sa… Penissmør!

Or

- Hva heter det på norsk/dansk/svensk?
- *random ord*
- På norsk/dansk/svensk heter det…. – eller – Men det er jo helt likt!!!
- Hahahaha

Or

- Could you please say it in english so I’m sure I will get it?

And so it goes! :D

Homesick

Being back in Montreal feels kind of empty. A lot of people have left for good, and the city is now well known and therefore not that exciting anymore. I had a great time being home for Christmas, and it was therefore a big change to be back here busy with schoolwork and feeling somewhat alone.

But I’m not the only one… and I still have some friends here… and hopefully my homesickness will pass soon… But you should know that right now, I miss all of you and I wish I was back home with you. Then we could go skiing,  sledging, have breakfast together, watch biathlon on TV, and talk face to face.

But until then: Get yous asses on facebook, MSN, or skype. That’s better than nothing! :)

Winter for sure

This weeks forecast leaves no doubt, Montreal is a wintercity and I am so happy for that!!! :)

I can also report that I am on Norway time (a late one though), so tonight I will go to bed before 9 pm, and tomorrow I will be wide awake before 7. A good deal, but I wonder for how long it will last, not too long unfortunately.

Another thing noticed is that Montreal feels kind of like home now. When I got back yesterday, I was surprised to see that everything was the same. I don’t know why I was surprised by this, but Montreal is not longer new (or scary/exciting?) and that is actually relaxing!
