Norsk!

  • Vamp
  • Grieg
  • Søndagsturer
  • at folk har hytter
  • Friluftslivfenomenet
  • Det at “alle” går på ski
  • Gågater
  • Bandy
  • Dessuten mangler det nordmenn her, mine favorittnordmenn!

Infliction

The time is getting close to 1.30am and my staus at facebook shows this:
Linn Maria Nordahl is impressed how much crap one can put in to words…

I have also mailed an essay to Shanthi, not to be corrected for grammar, but to give her a few laughs. The other more important essay got dismissed a few hours ago because I got amazed how much, well, crap I could put into words. I ended up watching “Private Practise” instead…

I am thinking about going to bed because clearly I’m not very producive, but I couldn’t miss this chance to inflict my lovely readers with tonight’s meaningless flood of lousy words.

Note to self: Brain not working after 11pm!

Good girl?

november 25, 2008 at 3:48 am | In Linn in Canada | 3 Comments

Christmas is coming up. I have already begun to listen to Christmas music. It feels kind of cheating to do that before December, but Montreal has messed me up. They have had decorations up for a long time, all the stores are playing Christmas carols and on Saturday it was a big Christmas parade, so I have joined the wave instead of trying to fight it.

But with Christmas comes the lack of consentration, something that is really unfortunate since the exams are just around the corner. Tomorrow I also have an oral test in french, essays have to be written during the week and next week the written exams start. I better get it together. But actually, this year I have been a good girl studying a lot, a lot more than on HiO, that’s for sure! Hopefully I can keep up the good work for one more month. It’s just that I long for christmas and the holidays so much! I am really looking forward to go home for the holidays.

Hopefully I will get my 2 christmas wishes fullfilled if I act a good girl all up to christmas. This year all I wish for is a safe flight back home ON TIME to my family and have a good time with them. And snow of course, both in Montral and Norway! :)

I wish you all a beautiful pre-christmas time!

Cultural Cheese Confusion

november 20, 2008 at 4:45 pm | In Linn in Canada | 7 Comments

Random person: What is this?
LM: It’s Norwegian brown cheese!
RP: BROWN cheese???? This is cheese????
LM: Yes, it’s cheese!! Try it! It’s really good!

Random person 2: What is this?
LM: It’s Norwegian brown cheese!
RP: BROWN cheese???? This is cheese???? I thought it was caramel….
LM: Well, it’s cheese!! (I’m not lying…) Try it! It’s really good!

Random person 3: What is this?
LM: It’s Norwegian brown cheese!
RP: BROWN cheese???? This is cheese???? It’s not peanut butter?
LM: No, it’s NOT peanut butter!! (I assure you…) Try it! It’s really good!

And like that the hours passed, from 10.30 am – 4pm. But almost everyone replied; “It’s really good!” Of course! It IS really good, and I’m glad I saved a small piece in my fridge, because believe or not the cheese was more popular than the milk chocolate!

And on behalf of myself and all the Cultural Fair participants; thank you Helene for “smuggling” cheese and chocolate to Canada! :)

1 + 2 = A really good weekend

november 18, 2008 at 1:43 am | In Linn in Canada | 3 Comments

Right now I’m feeling kind of alone. My appartment is not messy and there are no bags, socks, jackets or matresses lying on the floor. For 4 days Per Ivar and Helene have blessed Montreal and me with their apperances – much appreciated, so I was a bit sad when they left me going to the airport. I had a great time. It’s so much fun having visitors and I think they enjoyed themselves as well. We had a really busy weekend: We ate out a lot – breakfast at Moe’s is a winner, we went to museums, Mont Royal, and Old Montreal, we ate a lot of cakes and crepes, drank coffee, we shopped, got really wet and did most of the mandatory sightseeing.

If there’s more of you out there who have some extra money and a spare weekend, spend them on a trip to Montreal. I love having friends visiting! :)
